Dissection of the film odiyan seems to be little hard as everone may have their own versions of myths and predictions. So,i may kindle the fire to your wax-house if you didn't watch the film.. Readers please forgive me for the same.. PLOT. Odiyan narrates in two different timelines that alternatively shown without making an attempt to tell the story with regular flashback style. It starts when maanikan escapes a lady who was drowning to death as her sari got twisted around the turban of a boat in gangetic shore of varanasi. The lady is a native of thenkurusi, from where maanikyan was exiled 15 years ago. The lady tells the secrets about two mysterious murders happened in thenkurusi,for the same maanikyan was blamed.  The movie shifts its timeline that rolls the reel 15years backwards  when maanikyan was doing household jobs and a witchcraft of transfigurations into different animals. Joseph happened to be like a mango-shower in this dry season of malayalam movie releases ,which are all challenged by the storms and thunders created by the much awaited film ODIYAN. PLOT. The movie throw the rays first at the erratic lifestyle of a retired police officer named Joseph who is well established by the director as the man with a deep scar emotionally. The rest of the first half tells about joseph in detailed, his old relationship ,breakup , marriage,then separation from his wedlock and so on.. Second half starts with the investigation of his wifes murder that leads to the conspiracy which mystifies around the similar death of his daighter.
