Prithviraj starring ,9 seems to be an experimental sci fi thriller, featuring the compact between dark sides of humans that turns out to become an evil spirit, with the emotional rivalry of the powerful weapon of love.
Plot.
Albert, an astrophysicist goes to Himalayan cliffs to observe a comet thatst believed to be a messenger of satan, can plunge earth into a complete darkness by interferring with all the systems of earths electromagnetics..
Albert takes his son,along with him, who is a cared-less, school boy,brought up by albert himself after his mothers death following his birth.
They encounter nine days of complete standstillness of mordernised earth that invites a Demonic interference visaged by a young lady named eva.
Albert always had been having nightmares of his wife who says, adam, their son is the reason behind their breakup, indirectly influencing a sense of hatred in Albert.
At the end of it, Albert is getting daignosed with bipolar schizophrenia ,that the girl named Eva is his own projection. The personified form of albert, thats eva, in the mindstrains of moral conflicts between albert fails infront of his love towards his boy and shatters to oblivion.
Positives.
Cinematography, concepts, and morality is beautifully portrays in each himalayan frames.
Actors seems to be perfectly casted ,with a special mention on wamiqa gabi, with her furious eyes and attractive gestures as a demonic spirit.
Neagatives.
Movie takes 40 minutes trying to establish something about the comets though the movie doesnt need those details much.
Till the end of the film, we don't get the continuity because the director repeatedly tries to theorise alot, to convince his idea.
There are a couple of areas where audience may not understand the story as follows,
How can albert feel the influences of his own projections of subconscious ??Though this question can be left for psycological debate, but how the lady in shop getting nervous prior to the interval when Albert saying " you cannot protect yourself with your amulets", though the explanation goes on to say that its only albert who saw Eva..
Featuring eva as evil spirit which comes as fumes and darkness is on whose perspective ,is yet to be answered..
Though, the movie establish that eva is the evil side of albert himself, but, she comes in the last scene and communicates with Albert ,so, was the Eva real or not is left for the audience to decide.
Anyway am going with 2.5/5 for this experimental ,sci fi thriller that may not be appealing for every class of audience..
