AAKAASHAGANGA 2,Review

Horror films are always challenging to watch as it may have the potential to keep us haunted. It may mentaly torture us in our nightmares and checkmates our psyche with illusions.  Aakashaganga 2,tried such an attempt but pathetically begged to differ from the typical malayalam horror scenarios.

PLOT.
The film traced its storyline from its earlier sequel as the couples, maya and unni are blessed with a daughter named Arathi. By giving birth to his daughter , Maya dies and Arathi was brought up by her father and aunts. The plot develops through the college-life of arathi and his friends and untwin its horrific part when Arathi, an atheist, attempts to challege the test of a witch through whom the people can communicate with souls.  Arathi communicate with her mother and eventually open up an exorcised idol, placed in her familial temple. She got siezed by the same evil spirit (Ganga),that once succumbed and constrained by a wizard. Arathis friends seek help from a lady named Devi who is the daughter of the wizard who exorcized the same spirit decades ago. As she does rituals which are of neagativism, she demands help from vedic rituals as well to get ride of the evil inside arathi. The spirit has got hyperpowered through the time and makes its revenge to kill Arathi. Arathi, abducted by the spirit kills her own father and takes on to kill Arathi. Finally, the witch devi, with her paranormal powers in exorcism, with the help of her fathers disciple ,win over the spirit and could save Arathi but fails to save herself.

POSITIVES.
The song puthumazhayaayi is musically upgraded and can bring back the nostagia of late 90s.
There are few jump-scares as of 'conjuring'which are well executed.
Few comedy sequences and counters are decently incorporated which add a sense of realistic flavour to the film.
Debutant Beautiful actress Veena nair gave a decent performance that prooves her calibre and assures some better hights in future.

NEAGATIVES.
The film is narratively scanty with traditional cliches with night-sari-walks and ritualistic sequences.
Climax is not at all reasonably scripted and dont have any tactical dimensions of witchcraft and wizadory as we expect.
Though the actress Veena nair , managed her part with atmost sincerity in her best possible way, she was trying pathetically to manage the wretched script without any gravity and quality storyline.
College scenes and monolgues are of outdated genre that made the film open to more critic.

RATING.
I think, Its recommendable to family and kids for an easy watch and acceptable to the others if they didnt compare it with international horror films.
Am giving 5/10 and expects little more planned invasion from Ganga next time..
