KGF Chapter 2

KGF Chapter 2, being one of the most awaited film after the massive success of its first chapter that revamped the old-school Gangster stories in an overwhelmingly cinematic manner.

PLOT.

When Rocky established himself as a new social order in KGF, he realised that there exists 9 gold reserves in total as discovered by Suryavardhan in 1951,and the sector 3/9 is just one of it. He excavates the rest with his own people, a labour society, about which no data is traceable, even from satellite imagery. Rocky also keep his ambitious girl Reenu as hostage for his own safety, in a palace in KGF and literally rules not just KGF, but the whole political map of India. To hunt him down, Suryavardhan's brother Adheera who was thought to be dead on records, retake the story by challenging Rocky. Adheera shot down Rocky in a Gun fight and attacks KGF. Rocky loosing influence in KGF, fly to meet Inayat Ghalil who trade gold with Shetty and bargain to trade gold directly from Africa to Indian coast without touching Arabian grounds. He takes his vengeance against Atheera in a horrific gunfight to reiterate his power in KGF. Meanwhile, the Ruling party looses its majority on the floor of indian parliament and Ramika sen ( Raveena Tandon ) become the Prime minister of India by 1981. As the Government is convinced enough to state Rocky as the biggest criminal in India, she orders Death warrant to Rocky and even retreats from a conflict with Burma in the name of peacekeeping, inorder to use the military force against Rocky. Reaching to the climax, Government orders air-attacks on KGF, by the time Rocky , with all the gold he mined crosses the Indian coastline on a huge ship. Indian missiles onslaughts Rocky as he sinks down to the ocean as well as in the pages of History.

POSITIVES.

From a Don in chapter 1, Rocky elevated up to a level of Messiah when it comes to chapter 2. He is the king, is the law, is the state, and is the justice. Although it sounds crazy, the film could successfully and powerfully establish the cult with stunning visuals, outrageous background score and admirable execution of power and emotions.

Not being just typed as an all in all violent Typhon, the film marked its breeze on carefully blown Romance and affectionately  palpated motherliness.

Fight sequence are of no words. Extravagant usage of weaponry with enormous beauty and style, signifies the film as one of the most promising future of south indian cinema.

For movie aspirants, The whole 168 minutes is a Master class on 'how to use slow-motions on screen'.

Cinematography, editing and background score are incredible and repeatedly make one feel a shiver down the spine and a fire up the heart.

Rocky bhais criticism on Nepotism, Corruption, and his idea of War as an uprising , not as a downfall

NEAGATIVES.

The film is massive and so annoying too. Majority of the fight sequence are ear-deafening and when such horrific tracks repeatedly comes back and forth, one may feel headaches.

As the story treats Rocky as a new order, his hypermasculinity sometimes sanctified even at the cost of morality. When he keep his crush cum wife a hostage, he objectified the girl as his entertainment. And the issues with such glorified patriarchal thought will be very irritating for women as they may  wonder why the men in theatres are roaring when rocky says so.

Overexcited heroism could have checked in some scenes. Fanning his girl Reena with a helicopter, angry mother saying decorative dialogues of his child suspected with pneumonia, Newton's law and Rocky's law analogue etc were few examples of such overestimated absurdities even if it delivers to the audience who are ready to unlearn the rules of physics and common sense.

After few years, we may reach upto a social sense that why someone we were applauded for a guy who resorted himself to violence for the sake of the promise he had given to his mother? If someone wish to be Rich, let him, but how can we justify violence as his path.? These questions may sounds absurd but may get relevance after few years...

RATING.

Am giving 8.5/ 10 for this tremendous madness of Rocky bhai and waiting for the next chapter on Rocky's school of law and order.
