SUPERMAN,2025, Review
Amidst the cluster of superheroes in Hollywood, SUPERMAN still stands out for trying to be a good MAN. This movie is also concreting that concept of being a good human to become a Hero .
The story is about a country called Jarhanpur, that's facing an invasion threat from its neighboring country called Boravia,an ally of United states. Superman tries to defend Jarhanpur by stopping the invasion to let people of Jarhanpur live peacefully. But a billionaire named Lex Luther managed to convince the world that the superman is a threat to the whole world as his parent’s intention behind sending him to earth was to invade the Earth .
Being subjected to a question of faith , superman decides to produce himself for interrogation as Lex Luther take him to a Pocket dimension . But superman manages to escape from pocket dimension and throw Ultraman (his clone, but fights opposite to him with Luther) to a black hole in the pocket dimension . Meanwhile Green lantern, and his justice gang saves the people of Jarhanpur from the second invasion of Boravia and the Media in which superman was working as Clark Kent with his girlfriend, exposes the scam of Lux Luther as he was sent to prison . After settling the situation, superman shows his urge to fulfil the promise that he gave to his girlfriend to give an interview as they goes to a palace and fly up locking their lips .
Geopolitics.
The main plot of invasion of Jarhanpur by Boravia can be closely correlated with the ongoing invasion of Palestine by Israel,an ally of United States . The only citizen of Jarhanpur that’s been shown with a name is Malik Ali resembling a Palestinian name . Geopolitical allegiance of United States by providing Military aid and funds are clearly depicted in the dialogues and the common conflict of narratives are well displayed in an argument scene between Clark and his girlfriend. Superman’s dailogue “Don’t kill people” seems like a statement against the genocide .
The deal of half of the territory of Jarhanpur to Lux Luther by the President of Boravia , seems to be a critical analogy towards President Donald Trumps statement on Gaza in February 2025. Ultraman is referred to “Hammer of Boravia” where Hammer is most often used to express the military might of Israel . The final scene of the President of Boravia saying “I need the Bunker”, is also relatable to the B2 bomb that the US used against Iran to destroy Irans Nuclear enrichment facilities.
Other than the Middle East crisis, the film clearly express immigration issues of United States. Superman’s identity crisis for being an alien is very emotionally depicted better than any other superman films. The build up of a political narrative to justify and invoke the xenophobia is explicitly shown in the film .
Despite its geopolitical comments , the movie is equally good for Dc fans who likes grandeous visuals , technicalities , and Sci Fi themes like Blackholes, Hacking , Pocket universe ,Multiverse, and so on ..
Am giving 7/10 for Superman for being a good man .
