"AND THE OSCAR GOES TO..... " Review..
The film flashes the lights upon a passionate, young filmmaker named issak ibrahim (Tovino thomas) who decides to produce his own film after years of hardwork in the film industry. His directorial debut tells the story of his native named Moideen who gave up his whole life and properties for the release of his son ashraf from saudi arabian police where he is alleged for a murder. During the production of the film, issak confronts lots of difficulties, but he completes his film with the help of his friends and the people who come across his life. As the film recieves award for the category of 'best actor' it paves the way to release it in theatres by sorting the financial difficulties and bring him enough fame and money to clear his bebts.
In second half, issak debut film "minnaaminungukalude aakaasham" got selected from india for premering in oscar awards. Issak contacts Rassol pookkutty for knowing more about how the oscar system works and realise that he has to seek positive acclaims from the audience there at united states by showing his film in different premeres there. Midway his dream is what the title says "and the oscar goes to"....
What happens there at the oscar worth your tickets...
Positives.
As the film portrays Tovino thomas in almost all frames, he beautifully captured the character and performed well and good..
Supporting actors like siddiq, salimkumar, Anu sithara too did their job well.
Telling the story of Ashraf amidst the making of the film and through the theatrical shows, can be considered as well an appreciable scripting exercise of interplotation..
Neagatives.
Though we cant find any neagatives thoroughly , the film couldn't imprint much emotional hit in our mind.
Crucial role of songs in a film like this is found to be neglected as it dont have any hummable tracks..
Cliches and lagging rise up somewhere but couldn't altered or destroyed the move of the story..
Am giving 6.5/10 and considering it as one time watchable and inspirational for those who are passionate in film making..
