Bheeshma Parvam, Film Review

Bheeshmaparvam invites the crowd with two cards. One of Mammotty and Amal neerad, the other. It tells about a Powerful and Royal Christian family, its past and revenge gratification.

First 10 minutes draws the branches of the Anjootty family-tree and its ramifications with a last photo-capturing scene on which it hints everyone's conduct with the stem and taperoot of the family, Michael(Mammootty). As Michael holds the authority to govern the family buisness, testified by his late father, he earns respect and discipline by default. When some ruthless members of the family starts questioning the Michael's autocracy with greed, they seek help from Michael's old rivals and challenges him. Michael retaliates with precision, cunning and power as he saves himself and the family's name sometimes diplomatically and often through violence.

POSITIVES.

Technically, film is very commendable for its editing, cinematography and style.

Sushin syam's BGM pulled the film to an over the top level, especially when the rage, revenge, stunt and styles are flashing on the screen.

Browny color pallet, humor additives often, and classic performances of Soubin, Sreenath bhasi, Mammootty, and Shine tom chacko, were all absolutely impressive.

The film tries its best to keep everything politically correct without any usual remarks of sexist and misogynistic statements.

Though the protagonist values family traditions, it makes more progressive outlook on Intercommunity marriages without spilling any conservative disciplines. It critically exposes and state its position on so many recent issues that can be relatable with the authorities of the church.

NEGATIVES.

"Hero for a reason - fighting for a season losing someone he cares, and taking revenge",, -is an old school equation for any Gangster film. Bheeshmaparvam also admits to the same theory without adding even a single variable in extra.

Though the film tries to explain the family tree, it may seems little difficult for some audience to understand the  relationship clearly.

Sometimes, Its not just the hero who walks in slow motion, its the story, script, dailogue and camera too.

Abrupt climax may makes one feel less- satisfied.

RATING.

Am giving 6/10 for this film for its technical supremacy, artworks and that energising background score in tally with stunning performances.πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
