ANJAAM PAATHIRAA -Review
Anjaam paathiraa is one of the best crime thriller that comes out till the time in malayalam film industry which outsmarts every
outskirts of a psychopathic seriel killing events and investigation.
PLOT.
The film starts with an interrogative confession from a seril killer named Ripper Ravi(indrans) with a psychologist named Anwar( kunchakko boban) and cuts to the main plot as he interfer in investigation of a brutal murder of a policeman. The second murder in symmetrical pattern establishes the seriel killing episodes but the police couldnt trace any solid evidences nor any links. Police traces every possible sources like cctv footages, cyber networks and interrogate people, but the killer had manipulated all the datas, even hacks the cyber security of kerala police including each officers mobile phones, that makes him invisible without any witness. To counteract, Police seek help from a guy named Anto (Sreenath basi) who is a computer geek, to analyse the technicality behind edition of few selected footages into the live-recording cameras. Anto cracks the culprits identity and traces him through his girlfriend immediately when she orders food online. Police encounter the apartment of shaheed but found him dead and mummified.
The police department ,ashamed off the pointless progress of the entire scenario, transfer the case to another officer but anwar and his team continue their investigation that leads them to two other men. Tracing them who kidnaped police officers with a hypnotic drug so that there wont be any sign of force.
When police reaches the suspects, they found these men dead in their appartment with a suicide note.
Yes. WE REACHED AT A DEAD END...
Rest of the film is with logical deductions that elevate the story upto the top of a compelling crime thriller with an uncompromising climax.
OBSERVATIONS AND DEDUCTIONS
The director cum writer Midhun manuel thomas brilliantly tuned the script that cannot be logically disputed. He made it out with exactly what is required ,without spending even a second for melodramatics nor for any song. The script is absolutely precise as the characters hints their personal comments which could amase the whole situation registered. For example, the anwar says " i was right..I was right at every time..((But whats wrong.)).""
Villian: " I dont want to be a usual "celebrity-psychopath" who kills people for media-stunt and fear-mongering. I have my own privacy too."
Anil: "You psychologists have a problem. You guys will find "മാടമ്പിയിലെ മനോരോഗി" (a typical sczhizophrenic character from the film manichithrathaazhu ) in every individual. Infact you guys are exactly behaving the same."
Perfect casting and admirable performances of every actors make the film more convincing even for a layman though it deals with few scientific plots and cyberspace -encounters. Background scores is genuinely compromised with minimal tracks that urge the audience to stick on to the story without distractions.
RATING.
Am giving 9/10 for such brilliant thriller which warns " Your sleepless nights are coming. "
