Virata Parvam. Review

Virata parvam is a brave love story in such a revolutionary sociopolitical setting featuring Sai pallavi in the lead role without surrendering the character value in a male world of aggression, violence and revolution.

Plot.

The film tells about the story of a village girl named vennila(Sai pallavi) who got inspired from the poetry of a Naxal leader named Ravanna. She abandons her home to pursue her dream of joining with her love interest, that keeps the flow of the film.

The story takes its deeper lines of political philosophy when she joins with a naxal dalam in the forest and then progress to the events further. Even if the script plays with guns and guerilla warfare, the film has luminously  kept the emotional content intact till the end and there after..

Positives.

Sai pallavi literally steal the full length of the film as she managed to take it on her shoulders with intricately delivered emotions. Rana Daggubhati in support of her, made no mistakes. He is as aggressive and convincing with his performance, physique, and even in his intelligent voice modulations as a comrade.

This is a classic personification of  naxalism on the screen, with values, justifications, and the urge for revolution. Although the film is amidst the most sensible issues of sedition, it managed not to glorify the cause and rebellions ,and in fact contemplate for the atrocities in a democratically convincing way.

Script is brilliant as it could nicely blend the revolution and love. At times,we feel it's getting predictable, but that could be thrown away by adding another event with another progression.

Cinematography and the color pallate made the story more realistic.

Film symbolises left wing ideologies and most often giving direct references to communism like a visual poetry.

Negatives.

The poetry in the film and it's beauty may not be much enjoyable  for those do not understand Telugu. Although the English subtitles serves the purpose of understanding, it may not convey the exact gravity.

Rating.

Am giving 8/10 and half of it is only for Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubhati..
